Born Aichi-ken in 1978, Sekiyama graduated from the Faculty of Oil Painting of Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in 2000, and has won many awards including 'GEISAI7' BUILDING Scout Award in 2005 and 'GEISAI9' Roppongi Hills Art & Design Store Scout Award.
Solo exhibitions include 'Domestic' at home in 2002, 'Epuron' (Apron) at MARTHA (Aichi ) in 2004, Expo Satellite Hall (Aichi) in 2005, Westbeth Gallery Kozuka (Aichi) in 2005 and 'Sekiyama Koji c' Nadiff (Tokyo) in 2006. Group exhibitions include 'Minus' exhibition at the Citizen's Gallery Yada (Aichi) in 2002, 'Urban Dive Plan' exhibition at the Art Space X, Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art (Aichi) in 2003, 'YARUSENAKIO- no- art' at the Citizen's Gallery Yada (Aichi) in 2004, 'GEISAI; 6 to 19 from 2004 to 2006 at Tokyo Big Sight. Solo exhibition was at H.P. France Window Gallery, Shinjuku, Tokyo from 16th April 2007.
