旗なき花の雨 Rain of Unfurling Flowers

世界各地の国花に見立てた花々が、二体の獅子狛に降り注ぐ。咲き、散り、移ろうその循環は、人間の営みや歴史の象徴でもある。しかし獅子狛の時間は、それらに揺らぐことなく、波紋すら残さない。祝祭の気配と無関心が同時に在る場で、儚い生の時間と、風化しない存在の静けさが対置される。

Flowers modeled after national blossoms from around the world fall upon two guardian lion-dogs. Their cycles of blooming and falling echo human histories and lives. Yet the komainu remain untouched, leaving not even a ripple. In this coexistence of celebration and indifference, fleeting human time is set against an unweathering stillness.

Profile

1980年愛媛県生まれ。武蔵野美術大学油絵科卒。2006年より創作活動開始。東京在住。
現代アジアに混在する華やかな伝統を現代の視線を取り混ぜて視覚化する。現代の獅子狛や登龍門になぞらえた金魚等の作品シリーズを定期的に発表し、国内外のアートフェアやグループ展で高い評価を受ける一方、書籍装画を多く手がけ児童文学の自著も上梓、コミックスの劇中画としてアートワークを提供するなど、ユニークな応用美術的アクティビティも展開中。その他、自己テーマと絵画の特質を活かし住吉大社へ獅子舞頭の意匠を奉納するなど、アートのソーシャルなあり方にも目を向けている。
東京ワンダーシード2008にて入選。Behance Portfolio Reviews #4('13年)にて最優秀賞受賞。【UncommonGrounds by Facebook(2018)】アーティストコラボ企画に選出。
