Pietaとは、傷ついた身体と、それを受け止める存在との関係を核心に持つ図像構造である。本作はその構造を参照点として持つ。
絵画層には、人間の詩的感覚・無意識・直感によって変換された傷や痛みが抽象表現として存在する。その上にEEGによる脳波、音刺激に対するストレス反応、パニック状態における心拍数、皮膚感覚の測定値など、身体に関係する複数の生体データが重ねられる。彫刻工具による刻み込みは塗膜を切断し金属面を露出させる。それは同時に、表現の破壊行為でもある。
絵画とデータが交差する領域において、両者は役割を交換する。有機的な色の動きはデータの振る舞いとして読まれ、散布図・座標軸・波形といったデータの記述は絵画的な運動として機能する。
人間のあらゆる領域に測定が及ぶ今日、抽象として存在していた領域にまでデータは入り込み、痕跡を刻む。どこまでが身体の表現でどこからがデータの記述なのか、その境界は失われている。
アルミフレームが保護しているのは、その境界を失った状態、すでに固有性を失いつつある人間の姿である。それはPietaの構造と呼応する。

Pieta is an iconographic structure whose core lies in the relationship between a wounded body and the presence that receives it. This work holds that structure as its reference point.
Within the painting layer, wounds and pain ? translated through human poetic sensibility, the unconscious, and intuition ? exist as abstract expression. Over this, multiple layers of biometric data are imposed: EEG brainwave readings, stress responses to auditory stimuli, heart rate during panic states, and measurements of cutaneous sensation. The engraving tool cuts through the painted surface to expose the metal beneath ? an act that is, simultaneously, an act of destruction.
In the zone where painting and data intersect, the two exchange roles. The organic movement of color is read as the behavior of data; the language of data ? scatter plots, axes, waveforms ? functions as painterly motion.
Today, measurement reaches every domain of human experience. Data penetrates even those territories that once existed as abstraction, inscribing its traces there. The boundary between bodily expression and data description has ceased to be locatable.
What the aluminum frame holds is that boundary-lost condition ? the human figure in the process of losing its singularity. This is the structure that corresponds to Pieta.

Profile

Aira got influenced by a father who was a manga artist, and growing up in an environment with Japanese cartoons from a young age .

She went to an art college in Seoul and studied oil painting at university, but she took a leave of absence and studied dance while traveling overseas before she realized she had been enrolled at university for 7 years. She came to Japan in 2008 with her Japanese husband and started working on her works since 2012 .
Aira 's work was easy to fit into Japanese culture and blend there comfortably.This is due to the influence of hrs father, since she was touched by Japanese culture, like manga, from a young age.
Compared to Korean art education which emphasizes basic technique, Japan is said to have many artists freely expressing themselves without being bound by frames.Recently, she has been building a single worldview with more uniformity in her works.

She is an artist who can hope for rapid growth in the future aiming to becomes a bridge between Japan and Korea, and it is a good idea to buy her works which are still going for a cheap price.
