Created in 2020, this signed edition work (-/15) combines silkscreen and spray paint. Printed contours overlap with scattered particles of pigment, forming a composition that retains the speed and immediacy of the act of drawing itself.
　
From violet, black, and light-blue lines emerge figures crouching low and surging forward. Their contours shift and repeat in successive layers, recording not simply a single pose but something of the time and movement that led to it.
　
A vivid orange field spreads beneath the figures, anchoring the restless lines against the expansive white space above. Stillness and motion, emptiness and density coexist in delicate tension, revealing Obata’s distinctive perception of time through the moving body.
