Yoshino TAKAYAMA

多摩美術大学大学院美術研究科デザイン専攻統合デザイン領域在籍。クマ財団9.10期、佐々木泰樹育英会奨学生。

主に、磁力や重力などの物理現象と、単純な円運動を用いた「なぜかずっと見続けてしまう装置」を制作している。プログラミングで完璧に制御するのでもなく、逆に完全な自由を与えるのでもない。物理法則と拍の中で健気に動き続ける装置は、私たちが日々の制約の中で、懸命に生きている姿とも重なる。「生きること」を、普遍的に知覚可能な出来事へと濾過(ろか)していく。

アートの分野に限らず、日本機械学会学会誌(2026年)の表紙ビジュアルとして一年を通して起用されている他、プロダクトデザインの祭典Design Tide学生部門での優勝、NHK『Eテレ 2355』1 minute gallery出演など、様々な分野で活動している。

Currently enrolled in the Integrated Design Program, Master's Course in Design, Graduate School of Art and Design at Tama Art University. Grant recipient of the Kuma Foundation (9th & 10th cohorts) and scholar of the Yasuki Sasaki Scholarship Foundation.

My work primarily focuses on creating "devices that mesmerizingly hold your gaze," using simple circular motions alongside physical phenomena such as magnetism and gravity. These kinetic devices are neither perfectly controlled by programming, nor are they given absolute freedom. Constantly moving within physical laws and rhythmic beats, their subtle struggle resonates with how we human beings strive to live within our daily constraints. Through this approach, I filter the act of "living" into universally accessible, perceptible events.

Beyond the field of fine arts, my work spans diverse domains. I was selected to create the cover visuals for the Journal of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers throughout the year 2026, won the student section at the product design festival DESIGN TIDE, and was featured on NHK E-Tele’s 2355 "1 minute gallery."
