"写真をもとに本画を描き、またもとの写真に写っていた人物を別のパネルに転写し、それを再び本画にデカルコマニーで転写することで現れる朧げな像を、「現実には存在しないはずなのだけれども、頭から離れず執拗に回帰し、結果として現実にも影響を与えてしまう非現実の存在」としての幽霊に重ね、それが示唆する可能世界についての絵画を複数のシリーズで制作している。また、その絵画を再構成するインスタレーションや、幽霊についての映像作品も制作している。
iPhoneのアルバムには残らなかった可能世界の記憶たち。脈絡が曖昧になって不意に脳裏を過ぎるそれらは、MacBookのデスクトップを覆う無数のウインドウに似ていた。その数だけ存在する幽霊(可能性)たちは、今もぼくに取り憑き執拗に回帰する。彼らは現実で偶然に晒され続けるぼくの頭を悩ますが、同時に導いてもいるのだろう。

"Artist Statement
I create paintings that explore possible worlds through the figure of the ghost. Beginning with photographs, I produce Nihonga paintings, then transfer the figures originally depicted in those photographs onto separate panels. Using decalcomania, these transferred images are printed back onto the paintings, revealing blurred, indistinct apparitions. I regard these apparitions as ghosts: entities that should not exist in reality, yet persistently return to the mind, refusing to disappear, and ultimately exert an influence on reality itself. Through several ongoing series, I investigate the possible worlds suggested by these ghostly presences. Alongside these paintings, I also create installations that reconstruct the painted works, as well as video pieces centered on the theme of ghosts.
These are memories of possible worlds that never remained in my iPhone’s photo album. As their original contexts dissolve, they unexpectedly pass through my mind like countless overlapping windows covering the desktop of a MacBook. Each window becomes a ghost—a possibility—that continues to haunt me, returning again and again. While these ghosts trouble a mind constantly exposed to chance encounters in reality, perhaps they are also quietly guiding it.
