Jeanloup Sieff

ジャンルー・シーフ(1933–2000)は、フランスを代表する写真家。ポーランド系の両親のもとパリに生まれ、1950年代より写真家として活動を開始した。短期間マグナム・フォトに所属した後、『Vogue』『Harper's Bazaar』『Elle』『Esquire』など世界的なファッション誌で活躍し、ファッション、ポートレート、ヌード、風景など幅広い分野で数多くの名作を残した。Ira Stehmann
シーフは一貫してモノクローム写真を追求し、広角レンズを巧みに用いた大胆な構図と、光と影が織りなす官能的で詩情豊かな表現で知られる。その作品は被写体の造形美を際立たせるだけでなく、静寂やユーモア、人間の内面までも写し出し、写真表現に独自の美学を築き上げた。Hamiltons

Jeanloup Sieff (1933–2000) was one of France's most celebrated photographers. Born in Paris to Polish parents, he began his career in the 1950s and briefly joined the Magnum Photos agency before establishing himself internationally through commissions for leading magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, and Esquire.
