Teiji Hayamaは1975年熊本県生まれ。1998年にロンドンのCentral Saint Martins College of Art and Designを卒業し、現在はスイス・Giffersを拠点に活動している。ファッションや美術史を学んだ背景を持ち、のちに絵画を中心とした表現へと移行した。
　
マリリン・モンローやTwiggyなど過去の著名人を題材に、顔や身体を反復・変形させた独特の肖像で知られる。華やかなイメージの裏側に、名声への執着や自己演出、SNS時代の疲弊を重ね、ポップカルチャーと現代的な承認欲求の関係を描き出している。近年はニューヨーク、ロンドン、東京、台北など各地で個展を開催している。

Teiji Hayama was born in Kumamoto, Japan, in 1975. He graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London in 1998 and is currently based in Giffers, Switzerland. With a background in fashion and art history, Hayama later shifted his focus toward painting as his primary means of expression.
　
He is best known for distorted portraits of cultural icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Twiggy, whose faces and bodies are repeated, stretched, and transformed. Beneath their glamorous appearance, Hayama explores celebrity obsession, self-performance, and the fatigue generated by contemporary social media culture. His work bridges Pop imagery with a critical reflection on visibility, fame, and desire in the digital age.
