Masato Yamaguchi uses paintings to explore how we should have our identity in this world. “Trans Reality” he calls is a sense of reality even if we are not actually meeting(seeing, facing) them in person such as on a social networking service, OTT media service, and a virtual model generated by AI. He defines that coexistence of the real and the imaginary is one of the characteristics common to us today, and by modeling it, he inspires us to rethink our self perceptions, the shape of the world, which we only vaguely believe in.

山口真人は現代に生きる私たちのアイデンティティのあり方を絵画という形態から模索し、造形化します。例えばSNSや動画サービスサイト、AIによって生成される仮想イメージ等、相手の姿形や存在自体を実際に確認していないにも関わらず、そこにリアリティを覚える感覚をトランスリアリティと名付け、虚像性と実在性の同居が現代の私たちに共通する特徴の一つであると指摘する彼は、その造形化によって私たちが無防備に信じている世界の姿、私たち自身の存在にまつわる認識に再考を促します。

1980年東京都出身、90年代渋谷系・グラフィティの影響を受けグラフィックデザイナーとして活動後、2013年よりAffordable art fair NYC, SCOPE MIAMIなどのアートフェアに参加。主な個展に「"MADE IN TOKYO」(Gallery Onetwentyeight/NYC 2016)、2019 「トランスリアリティ序章」(H.P.FRANCE MARUNOUCHI/Tokyo 2019)等、2019年INDEPENDENT TOKYOにてグランプリを獲得。2021より自身がオーガナイズ・キュレーションをするイベントTRANSREALITYSHOW をスタート。
