井口エリーの作品は一見スタイリッシュな外観を持ちながら、その裏には普段見えないる人間の本能や感情が揺れ動く様子が隠されています。この「獣」のような本能が姿を現すふとした瞬間をとらえる彼女の作品は、人間の「二面性」を観る者に鮮やかに伝えます。
彼女が頻繁に取り上げるモチーフにハイヒールがあります。それは現代を生き抜く女性の姿を象徴するものでありながら、怒りや不満といった内面的な感情が隠されている様子を表現しています。それらの感情は「コントロールしきれない人間の本性」であり、繕われた外見と内なる本能の間には葛藤や緊張感が生まれます。そんな瞬間の人間らしさや未開の熱情を彼女は大胆に表現し、鑑賞者の心を深く惹きつけるのです。
