1996年兵庫県生まれ。2021年京都芸術大学大学院芸術研究科美術工芸領域油画専攻修了。現在は京都を拠点に制作を行う。

格子状のパターンや色面の重なりを用いた絵画作品を制作し、色彩や層構造を通じて人間の視覚の働きや絵画と鑑賞者との関係性にアプローチしている。

一見ポップな色彩を用いながらも、重なりによるレイヤーが立体的な印象を生み出し、視覚体験そのものを問い直す絵画として展開されている。

Yuzuho Matsuoka (born 1996 in Hyogo, Japan) is a contemporary artist who explores the function of human vision and the relationship between painting and the viewer through layered color fields and grid-based structures. She completed her MFA in Oil Painting at Kyoto University of the Arts in 2021 and is currently based in Kyoto.

Matsuoka’s work is characterized by the use of lattice patterns painted on square canvases, over which abstract color forms are layered. The vivid colors and structural layering create a sense of visual depth, producing works that appear both pictorial and spatial. While her paintings initially appear bright and pop-like, they ultimately function as investigations into perception and pictorial space.
