田名網敬一
Keiichi Tanaami
1936年東京生まれ。
武蔵野美術大学デザイン科卒業。
デザインのかたわら映像による実験を試み続け、作品はオーバーハウゼン、エディンバラなど世界各地の映画祭で上映された。87年フランスのアヌシー・シャトウ美術館で個展、92年池田20世紀美術館で「田名網敬一の世界展」、2004年KPOキリンプラザ大阪で「田名網敬一+宇川直宏 ディスコ・ユニバーシティ展」開催。
著書に『踊る金魚』アムズ・アーツプレス、『BLOW UP』青幻舎、DVDに『TANAAMISM』1と2/日本スカイウェイがある。1991年に京都造形芸術大学教授に就任。
近年国際的な評価が高まっており、ニューヨーク近代美術館やシカゴ美術館などにも作品が収蔵されている。2024年東京の国立新美術館で初の大規模回顧展を開催。
Born in Tokyo in 1936.
Graduated from the Department of Design at Musashino Art University.
While working as a designer, he continued to experiment with video, and his works have been screened at film festivals around the world, including Oberhausen and Edinburgh. In 1987, he held a solo exhibition at the Annecy-Chateau Museum in France, and in 1992, he held the "World of Tanaami Keiichi" exhibition at the Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art. In 2004, he held the "Tanaami Keiichi + Ukawa Naohiro: Disco University" exhibition at KPO Kirin Plaza Osaka.
His books include "Dancing Goldfish" (Amus Arts Press) and "BLOW UP" (Seigensha), and the DVDs "TANAAMISM" 1 and 2/Japan Skyway. In 1991, he became a professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design.
His international acclaim has grown in recent years, with his works included in collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago. His first large-scale retrospective will be held at the National Art Center, Tokyo in 2024.
