セクシャリティを主題とし、身体を撮ることで他者との関係性を問い続けるアーティストとして知られる鷹野隆大。しかし本作品は少し違った表情を見せている。彼が「毎日写真」と呼び、1998年から取り組んでいるシリーズである。

「IN MY ROOM」のような性や体を撮るシリーズのほかにも取り組んでいるものがあります。そのひとつが「毎日写真」で、「何も考えずに撮る」ことを第一にして1998年からずっと続けています。
　きっかけは、「作品撮り」をしている時間に比べて、撮っていない時間のほうがずっとながいことに気がついたことです。そもそも写真は「ハレ=非日常」のものであってはいけないと考えてスタートしたのに、いつのまにか特別な日にしか撮らなくなっていて、それじゃまずい、もっと「ケ=日常」のものにしなければと思ったんです。
初めは「写真の記録性」を意識したいましたが、続けるうちに「写真と記憶」の結びつきに興味を持つようになりました。ただ、10年近くやってみて、どうやら二つは別のものだと感じ始めていますが。
　「毎日写真」とこれまで発表してきたシリーズは、いまのところ直接関連はありません。でも、最終的にはうまくつながってくれることを期待しています」

1963年福井県生まれ。東京都在住。
2006年、第31回木村伊兵衛写真賞受賞。

1990年代より作品発表を開始。身体、日常、私的空間や記録性を軸に、スナップショットの方法論を拡張する写真表現を展開してきた。
2000年代以降は国内外で精力的に個展・グループ展を開催し、美術館とギャラリー双方の文脈で評価を確立している。

主な個展に、府中市美術館、ツァイト・フォト・サロン、ナディッフ、GALLERY at lammfromm など。
グループ展では、東京都写真美術館、上海美術館、University of Maryland、国立国際美術館ほかに出展。

作品は、東京都写真美術館、国際交流基金、川崎市民ミュージアム、上海美術館、太宰府天満宮に収蔵されている。

Profile

Born in 1963 in Fukui Prefecture, Japan. Lives and works in Tokyo.
In 2006, received the 31st Kimura Ihei Award.

Since the mid-1990s, he has presented photographic works that explore the body, everyday life, private space, and the act of recording itself. His practice expands the possibilities of snapshot photography, examining the relationship between personal experience and visual documentation.

From the 2000s onward, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Japan and internationally, establishing a strong presence in both museum and gallery contexts.
Major exhibition venues include the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, Fuchu Art Museum, Zeit-Foto Salon, NADiff, GALLERY at lammfromm, the Shanghai Art Museum, the National Museum of Art, Osaka, and the University of Maryland.

His works are included in the public collections of the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, the Japan Foundation, Kawasaki City Museum, Shanghai Art Museum, and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
