思い出クイズで恥をかかされる犬 Dog who is insulted in the memories quiz show

ペットの気持ちをすべて理解しているという自信が溢れている時というのは、もしかしたら逆に彼らに自分を理解してほしいと強く願っている時なのかもしれないと思うことがあります。この絵の中に描かれているのは、いかにも視聴率の高そうなペットと飼い主のクイズショーです。「どちらが僕が初めて君に作った小屋?」というという問いに、犬は戸惑いながらもひとまずBと答えています。自分こそペットと理解しあい、愛し合っているというこのパフォーマンスは、犬をフィルターにしてテレビの向こうへ発信される、飼い主自身の自己表現にも見えます。愛情や気持ちの汲み取りあいのパフォーマンスは、はたして第三者に公開されても純粋なものと言えるのでしょうか。

Profile

人間の影響を受けて変化していく生き物たちを描くことで、自分達が抱える問題を客観的にみることはできないか。また、言葉を持たないそれらの生き物の情動を探る時のように、多様な価値観を持って議論し、問題と向き合うことはできないか。そのような問いかけを、糾弾ではない方法で行うことを自身の制作の課題としています。

Profile

By depicting creatures that are changing under the influence of humans, I aim to look objectively at the issues human society faces. And I want to discuss and confront them with diverse values, just as when exploring the emotions of these creatures without languages. The challenge of my creation is to do so in a way that is not a rebuke of society's problems, with allegorical elements.
