Espartaco is an international artist currently based in Brooklyn, NYC. Over the decades, his work has made its way to major galleries, museums, and private collections on 6 continents. These include the New England Center for Contemporary Art (CT), the Caracas Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Francisco Narváez, and the Cumana Museum of Contemporary Art (all in Venezuela). Espartaco is the creator of a character called Nozco, a child-like abstract representation of a human being. The character developed to be part of Espartaco’s multimedia art evolution, through paintings, sculptures, installations, animations, murals, and street art, as well as doing workshops with children and teenagers in the community. Espartaco is currently branching out into fashion and home goods by incorporating his Nozco character and art into everyday household objects and furniture. His major murals can be seen at FINE & RAW Chocolate on 70 Scott Ave, Brooklyn, NY (Chokonozco, 2022), Wyckoff Avenue & Starr Street, Brooklyn, NY (Open Mind, 2020), and Steamboat Springs, CO (Nozcocabooze, 2020).
He studied prints at Cristobal Rojas School of Art, Caracas, Venezuela (1985-86), Industrial Design at Polytechnic School of Design, Milan, Italy (1987-89), and prints at the University of Connecticut, USA (1991).
