この写真集は“BABI de Boon”の続きになります。

私が初めてBABIの写真を撮ったのは、BABIの幼馴染のHARUNOが作った“BABI de Boon”というTシャツの撮影の時でした。BABIは最初、怪訝そうな顔で「なぜ僕の写真を撮りたいのですか?」と私に聞きました。私は少し緊張しながら答えました。

HARUNOはBABIの中にカッコ良さを見出し、世に出したいと思っていて、それは、HARUNOが作ったTシャツ、“BABI de Boon”にも表れている。私はそんなBABIとHARUNOの関係が美しいと思った。今から私が二人の仲と同等になるには日が浅いけれど、仲間になりたいと思った。BABIと”BABI de Boon”を写真を通して世に出したいと思った。と話しました。バビは「わかりました!」と言ってくれました。この時、緊張が解け、距離が縮んだ感じがしました。

その後、私は、私と二人だけの時のBABIを撮りたいと思うようになりました。BABIは持病を抱えていて、BABIの母も同じ病で亡くなっていました。どう旅立つか、どう見送るか、私はBABIを季節の移ろいの中で写真を撮りたいと思いました。写真を撮る時、BABIはいつも協力してくれました。BABIは何も言わなかったけれど、私はその写真をどう残し、どう伝えるかを託されているのだと思いました。それでこの写真集をつくりました。

This photo book is a continuation of "BABI de Boon".

The first time I took a picture of BABI was when I took a picture of the “BABI de Boon” T-shirt made by BABI's childhood friend HARUNO. At first, BABI asked me with a dubious face, "Why do you want to take a picture of me?"I was a little nervous when I answered.

HARUNO finds coolness in BABI and wants to show it to the world, and this is reflected in the T-shirt HARUNO made, “BABI de Boon”. I thought the relationship between such BABI and HARUNO was beautiful. It's still too early for me to be on par with the two of them, but I wanted to be their companion. I wanted to bring BABI and “BABI de Boon” to the world through photography. I talked to Babi said, "Okay!" At this time, I felt that the tension was released and the distance was shortened.

After that, I wanted to take pictures of BABI when it was just the two of us. BABI had a chronic disease, and BABI's mother also died of the same disease. I wanted to take pictures of BABI as the seasons change, how to depart and how to see him off. BABI always cooperated when taking pictures. BABI didn't say anything, but I felt that I was entrusted with how to preserve and convey the photos. That's why I made this photo book.

Profile

私は、日本海に面した海の近くの小さな町で生まれ育ちました。
そこは、夕方から夜への移り変わりがドラマチックで、その色彩や、夜の海の黒い広がりが、私の美意識に影響を与えています。

私の作品は写真作品です。
絵画的に構成した作品と、ある人物を四季を通じて撮り続け編集した作品があります。

私達の出来事に対して何事も無かったかのように過ぎ去っていく季節、その残酷性と、無関心さゆえの寛容さに美しさを感じます。

Profile

I was born and raised in a small town near the sea on the Sea of Japan.
There, the transition from evening to night is dramatic, and the colors and the black expanse of the sea at night influence my sense of beauty.

My work is photographic.
Some are pictorial compositions, and others are edited photographs of a certain person throughout the four seasons.

I find beauty in the cruelty of the seasons that pass as if nothing happened to us, and in the generosity of their indifference to our events.
