人物、建物、植物など身の回りにある日常的な物事をモチーフにして、日常からこぼれ落ちる感情や記憶を描いています。
常に作品の根底にあるテーマは両義性です。
「明るい柔らかな色彩とそこはかとない暗さ」や「日常と非日常」といった両義的なイメージを作品の中に共存させています。
それにより、あらゆるものが持っている相反する2つの側面の存在を認めながら、その狭間で上手くバランスをとって生きている私達の、日々の小さな緊張感のようなものを表現しています。

Using motifs of people, buildings, plants, and other everyday objects around us, I depict the emotions and memories that spill over from the everyday.
The underlying theme of my work has always been ambiguity.
In my works, ambivalent images such as "bright and soft colors with a hint of darkness" and "the everyday and the extraordinary" coexist in my paintings.

Profile

1966年東京生まれ。1988年武蔵野美術大学工芸工業デザイン学科(インテリアデザイン専攻)卒業。油彩画とリソグラフによる版画作品を制作し、個展やアートフェアへの出展をメインとしながらクライアントワークを行う。また、布による動物の壁掛けオブジェFabric trophyの制作など、様々な創作活動をしている。日常の何気ない風景や人物を描きながら、記憶の曖昧さや感情の残像を表現。光と影、安らかでありながら不穏、親密さと距離感といった二面性の共存を探求し、鑑賞者それぞれの記憶と重なり合うような作品を目指している。

Profile

Born in Tokyo in 1966. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Industrial, Interior, and Craft Design (Interior Design major) in 1988. I create oil paintings and risograph prints, presenting them mainly in solo exhibitions and art fairs, while also working on commissioned projects. I also engage in a variety of creative practices, such as producing “Fabric Trophy”—animal wall-mounted objects made of fabric. Through depicting ordinary everyday scenes and people, I express the ambiguity of memory and the lingering traces of emotion. My work explores the coexistence of dualities—light and shadow, serenity and unease, intimacy and distance—with the aim of resonating with the personal memories of each viewer.
