メタ絵画の鑑賞は、絵を観ているという鑑賞者の自己言及を触発し、
それは世界を見る/視る/観るとはどういうことかを考え、捉え直す契機になると考えています。
多様なメディアや視覚表象が日々新しく生まれ続ける今日でも、
絵画は古く、そして新しい。
メタ絵画はその新しさを見出すための手掛かりでもあります。

I create paintings that explore meta-painting—paintings that refer to and reflect upon their own condition as paintings.
I believe that encountering a meta-painting can prompt viewers to become conscious of the fact that they are looking at a painting. This self-awareness can, in turn, become an opportunity to reconsider what it means to see and perceive the world.
Even today, when new media and forms of visual representation continue to emerge every day, painting remains both old and new. Meta-painting offers a way to discover what makes painting new.
