性別の垣根を超えた人間の美しさを感じてもらえたら嬉しい。

I expressed what I saw while going back and forth between DragQueen culture and Japanese culture as a sculpture.
I would be happy if people could feel the beauty of humans that transcends gender boundaries.

Profile

　"Drag Queen"(ドラァグクイーン)という主にゲイ男性による女装パフォーマーをモチーフにした、彫刻作品を制作している。
　派手なメイクやや衣装、転びそうなほど高いハイヒールを身につけ、女性性をオーバーに表現するDrag Queen。近年ではメディアで取り上げられることも多く、認知度が上がってきている。しかし奇抜な容姿やキャラクター性が取り上げられ、その文化や成り立ちを知る機会はまだまだ少ない。
　そこでDrag Queenの文化や歴史を美術的側面から再考察し、彫刻という確かな存在として表現し残していきたいと考えている。

Profile

I am creating sculptures with the motif of "Drag Queen", a transvestite performer mainly by gay men.

Drag queens, who express their femininity in an exaggerated manner, wearing flashy makeup, outfits, and stilettos so high that they seem as if they might fall over, have recently been featured in the media and are gaining increasing recognition. However, it is their eccentric appearance and characters that have been the focus in the medias, and there have been few opportunities to learn about their culture and origins.
Therefore, I would like to revisit the culture and history of drag queens from an artistic point of view, and to portray and preserve them in the form of sculptures - a definite existence.
