遠く為るべき身体図(草上の) Far to be nude figure (on the grass)

本作は、私自身のカメラロールに残る記録写真、AIによって生成された架空の風景、そしてYoutube上でライブ配信される世界各地の映像等を素材とし、AI生成による身体図像をコラージュ的に組み合わせることで構成された絵画作品群である。Stable Diffusionや
Midjourney、Photoshopなど複数の生成AIを横断的に用いながらイメージを構築し、それをエアブラシなどを用いた手描きの技法でパネル上に描画している。
AI生成された身体像はどこか人間から乖離した存在として映る。それはまるで「換骨奪胎」された人間のようであり、皮膚のみが残された抜け殻のような印象を与える。この現象に対し、私は不安と期待の両方を抱えている。AIが身体を「理解」し始めたとき、人間の身体のあり方は決定的に変わるのではないか。けれど、そこには新たな美しさが生まれるのではないだろうか。
AIとともに生み出す身体像は、人間が抱く欲望や理想の投影であり、同時にガイドラインやアルゴリズムによって規制された「作り出せる自由さ」の中で生まれるものである。

This is a series of paintings composed of a collage of AI-generated body images, based on my own camera roll, AI-generated imaginary landscapes, and live video from around the world on Youtube, etc. Stable Diffusion and
Midjourney, Photoshop, and other AI-generated AI systems are used across the board to construct the images, which are then hand-painted on the panels using airbrushing and other hand-drawing techniques.
The AI-generated images of the human body appear to be somewhat alien to the human body. It is as if a human being has been “reconstituted,” giving the impression of a shell with only the skin remaining. I am both anxious and hopeful about this phenomenon: when AI begins to “understand” the body, the nature of the human body will change decisively. I believe that a new kind of beauty will emerge from this new understanding.
The image of the body created with AI is a projection of human desires and ideals, and at the same time, it is created in the “freedom to create,” which is restricted by guidelines and algorithms.

Profile

AI の発達やメディアの多様化が続く現代における、人々のイメージ形成や認識をテーマとして、自身で撮影した写真、AI生成で作り出した図像を素材にしてデジタルイメージを作成し、それをエアブラシ等の描画材を使い手描きでパネル上に描画することで、絵画作品を制作している。
画面に共通して登場する身体像は、AI生成モデルから生成した身体図像を、作者によってコラージュ的に創意し作られたものである。 InstagramなどSNSによって、自らの身体や生活自体を商品化することが義務のようになっている現代、そこに存在する欲望や理想としての身体像をAIとともに思考することで、現実と仮想の境界にあるような今の人間の姿を模索している。

Profile

AIMI creates paintings by creating digital images from his own photographs and AI-generated images, and then hand-painting them on panels using airbrushes and other drawing materials. The common body image on the screen is the “body”.
The body images that commonly appear on screen are created by the artist in the form of collages of body images generated from AI-generated models. In this age when social networking services such as Instagram have made it an obligation to commercialize one's own body and life itself, the artist explores the current human figure that lies on the border between the real and the virtual by thinking about the desires that exist there and the body image as an ideal, together with the AI.
