Beautiful cell - 美しき細胞-シリーズはセメントに、有機的なリズムで空けられた穴。
そこへ静かに流し込まれる着色樹脂は、偶然に混ざり合いながら、新たな表情を生み出していく。
それはまるで、細胞が分裂し、生命が芽吹く瞬間のよう。
この作品は、私たちがたった一つの受精卵から生まれた尊い存在である事を見つめ直し「自らを愛すること」の大切さを問いかけている。

The Beautiful Cell series features holes drilled in cement in an organic rhythm.
Colored resin is quietly poured into these holes, mixing by chance and creating new expressions.
It is like the moment when a cell divides and life sprouts.
This work asks us to reconsider the fact that we are precious beings born from a single fertilized egg, and to question the importance of "loving ourselves".

Profile

1975年福岡市生まれ、姫路市出身、愛媛県在住。
具体美術協会の前衛芸術家嶋本昭三に師事し「今までにないものをつくれ」という具体の精神を学び、平面作品にセメントを用いる独自の作風を確立する。
　幼少期から強い劣等感に苦しんでいたが、絵を通じて内なる自分を表現することで
「魂と身体」が統合される感覚を体験し自らが救われた。
この体験をもとに、無機質なセメントに人々の内なる陰や影の側面を投影し、そこに陽や光を象徴する鮮やかな色彩を重ねる事で「不完全さと完全さがあって、人は輝く―」をコンセプトに、現代人の心に「生きる希望」を呼び醒まし、自分らしく生きる喜びを鑑賞者へ社会へと発信し続けている。

Profile

Born in Fukuoka in 1975, originally from Himeji, and currently living in Ehime Prefecture.

He studied under Shozo Shimamoto, an avant-garde artist from the Gutai Art Association, learning the Gutai spirit of "creating something that has never been done before," and established his own style of using cement in two-dimensional works.

Since childhood, he suffered from a strong inferiority complex, but by expressing his inner self through painting,
he experienced a sense of "soul and body" becoming one, which saved him.

Based on this experience, he projects the dark and shadowy aspects of people's inner selves onto inorganic cement, and overlays vivid colors that symbolize light and sunshine on top of it, based on the concept that "people shine with imperfection and perfection," awakening "hope to live" in the hearts of modern people and continuing to convey the joy of living one's true self to viewers and society.
