1960年、イギリス、ノースウェールズ生まれ。ニューヨーク在住。世界的に知られるアート情報サイト、「artnet」のライターからの情報で、今おすすめの作家と言われたのがこのミルレー・ヒューズ。個展を行ったのは 99年が最初。まだニューヨークですら知っている人は多くない、まさしくフレッシュなアーティストです。ウェッブ上では伝わりにくいが、その筆のタッチや、レイヤーを重ねたかのような空間の感覚は独特。ストリート・グラフィティのような要素もあり、またVJの映像を思わせるところもある。3Dレンチキュラーで加工されている表面のテクスチャーもユニーク。リミックス世代のペインター。
