The Turkish Grasslands is a print by Aya Takano. Created in 2005, this limited edition of 300 signed works is produced using four-color offset printing with silver ink, resulting in a delicate layering of luminous, dreamlike hues.

In this work, Takano’s light touch and translucent palette quietly harbor a sense of contemplation. The image unites girlish innocence with a mature gaze, drifting between reality and fantasy, the everyday and cosmic imagination, gently inviting the viewer into introspection. Drawing on influences from Japanese manga and science fiction, her poetic vision reflects subtle traces of its time and society. Profile

Born in Saitama, in 1976. Graduated the Tama Art University.

Aya Takano is famous for her work which involves female characters.
At first sight, her work seems like a cheerful Illustration.
But in the deeper area, her work is both erotic and grotesque, involving much influence from Japanese comics and science fiction novels.

Her art works are constructed by theme such as mechanism of this strange world, torn seam of the society, malformed animals and dogma of human greed.

These themes are united into a dreamy characteristic world, and have received many supports from young woman in Japan.
