私の作品は、視覚を切り取ったような「ただ見たまま」の構図に見えるかもしれません。しかし実際には、その多くは現実には存在しない光景です。作品に登場するモチーフの多くは、私の中に蓄積された記憶の断片や、そこから派生した空想によって創られています。
私にとっての実在感とは、目に映るものをそのまま再現することではありません。その奥に潜む気配や記憶が息をしていること。曖昧な記憶の手触りや、取りこぼされた感情の細片が、確かにそこにあると感じられることです。
この作品では、光と影、なかでも身の回りにある人工的な光と、そこに立ち現れる情景を描きました。鑑賞者の記憶と重なり合い、実在感を伴った普遍的な物語として立ち上がることを願っています。

My works may appear to be composed as if they simply capture what is seen fragments of visual reality cut out as they are.
In truth, however, many of these scenes do not exist in the real world. The motifs that appear in my paintings are largely created from fragments of memory accumulated within me, as well as from imaginations that have grown out of those memories.
For me, a sense of reality does not lie in faithfully reproducing what is visible to the eye.
Rather, it resides in the presence of what breathes beneath the surface in the feeling that traces of memory, the textures of ambiguity, and the fragments of emotions that slipped through our grasp are undeniably there.
In this body of work, I depict light and shadow, focusing in particular on the artificial light found in our everyday surroundings and the scenes that emerge within it.
I hope these images will overlap with the viewer’s own memories and rise into being as universal narratives, grounded in a tangible sense of reality.

Profile

1966年東京生まれ。1988年武蔵野美術大学工芸工業デザイン学科(インテリアデザイン専攻)卒業。油彩画とリソグラフによる版画作品を制作し、個展やアートフェアへの出展をメインとしながらクライアントワークを行う。また、布による動物の壁掛けオブジェFabric trophyの制作など、様々な創作活動をしている。日常の何気ない風景や人物を描きながら、記憶の曖昧さや感情の残像を表現。光と影、安らかでありながら不穏、親密さと距離感といった二面性の共存を探求し、鑑賞者それぞれの記憶と重なり合うような作品を目指している。

Profile

Born in Tokyo in 1966. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Industrial, Interior, and Craft Design (Interior Design major) in 1988. I create oil paintings and risograph prints, presenting them mainly in solo exhibitions and art fairs, while also working on commissioned projects. I also engage in a variety of creative practices, such as producing “Fabric Trophy”—animal wall-mounted objects made of fabric. Through depicting ordinary everyday scenes and people, I express the ambiguity of memory and the lingering traces of emotion. My work explores the coexistence of dualities—light and shadow, serenity and unease, intimacy and distance—with the aim of resonating with the personal memories of each viewer.
