谷口洸(たにぐち あきら)は1993年神奈川県生まれ。東京藝術大学大学院絵画専攻修了。オーストラリアのシドニー芸術大学やマルタ共和国への留学経験を通して、西洋美術の方法論と東洋的な感覚のあいだを往復する独自の絵画表現を展開している。

谷口の作品は、水面や空、雲などの自然現象を主要なモチーフとし、光や風によって絶えず変化する風景の揺らぎを絵画として定着させることを試みている。木製パネルの木目や質感を画面の一部として取り込み、自然のリズムと絵画の構造を重ね合わせることで、静かな時間の流れや心象風景を表現している。

また制作活動と並行して展覧会の企画にも携わり、「ストレンジャーによろしく」や「うららか絵画祭」などの企画運営にも関わっている。

Akira Taniguchi (born 1993 in Kanagawa, Japan) completed his MFA in Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts. Through study abroad experiences in Sydney and Malta, he developed a distinctive practice that moves between Western painting methodologies and an Eastern sensibility.

Taniguchi’s paintings often focus on natural phenomena such as water surfaces, skies, and clouds. His works attempt to capture the subtle fluctuations of landscapes shaped by light and wind. By incorporating the grain and texture of wooden panels into the pictorial structure, he overlays natural rhythms with painterly composition, expressing quiet temporal flow and inner landscapes.

Alongside his artistic practice, Taniguchi has also been involved in organizing exhibitions and collaborative projects, including Hello Stranger and Urara Painting Festival.
