服に水で溶いた石膏を塗る。何度も塗り重ねる。これを繰り返すことで繊維が固まり着用は不可能になり、そのまま服の姿をした白い彫刻と化す。
布は人の思いや記憶を宿しやすい物質であり、服はその最たる例だ。繊維と繊維の隙間にはある懐かしさを想起させる匂いや温度が潜んでいる。石膏で繊維に蓋をするのは、そこに宿った記憶が散らばらないように閉じ込める作業。ただし、いつでも石膏の膜を剥がして取り出すことが出来る。
