木の枠組みに布を張り、その上に絵の具を塗る。
キャンバスの歴史は1410年から始まる。なんと古臭い表現方法だろう。「現代アート」と言っておきながら600年以上前の表現方法がいまだに主流なのである。
私はこれに疑問を持ち、その歴史から少しでも外れた新しい表現方法を試みた。
この作品は、絵具は一度も布の上に塗られていない。すでに加工され下地材が施されたキャンバスを削ることのみで制作されている。
