After studying Communication and Visual Design at the Jakarta Institute of the Arts, he built a career as a freelance illustrator and photographer before focusing primarily on painting and drawing as his main modes of expression.

Moniaga’s body of work is known for its symbolic visual language, shaped by influences from dark fantasy and surrealism, through which he weaves inner emotions and narrative fragments. His compositions bring together complex states of feeling, fantastical creatures, and delicate ornamental details, inviting viewers into a richly imagined universe of his own making.
