この作品は、人々の人生とそのアップダウン、個々の人生を変える予測不可能な力を表現しています。
カラフルなギザギザ部分は人生の波を表し、その周りに張り巡らされた糸は、周りから加えられる予期せぬ力を表現しています。

人生のアップダウンについて考えると、時として、一見不幸な出来事が次に起こる幸運の予兆であったり、逆にラッキーなことが不幸の始まりだったり、物事の良し悪しというのはすぐには判断できないものです。人生は、度重なる無数の出来事から成り立っており、個々の出来事から単純に好不調を判断する事も難しいです。

現代の情報が溢れている社会において、SNS等で容易に他人の暮らしを垣間見ることが出来、人々は幸せというものを他人のものさしに当てはめて短絡的に判断しがちです。しかし、幸せそうに見える人が実は大きな悩みを抱えていた事を後から知る、というような事はよくあります。
私たちは、いつの間にか表面的な情報だけで他人を判断し、その人の本質と向き合う事が出来なくなっているのかも知れません。しかし、表面的にどのように見える人であれ、人生の波にもまれながら生きている一人の人間なのです。

この作品の美しさはランダムな波型のフォルムの美しさによるものであり、人生というものもアップダウンがあるからこそ最後に振り返ったときに感慨深くなるのだと思います。
この作品では一人一人の人生を、カラフルな作品として視覚化する事により、どんな人生であれ、全ての人生は美しいという事を表現しています。

This piece represents people's lives and their ups and downs, the unpredictable forces that change each individual's life.
The colorful jagged parts represent the waves of life, and the threads around them represent the unpredictable forces to change our lives.

When we think about the ups and downs of life, sometimes a seemingly unfortunate event can be a sign of good fortune to come, or conversely, a lucky event can be the beginning of bad fortune. Life is made up of a myriad of events, and it is difficult to simply judge good or bad from each events.

In today's information-rich society, it is easy to catch a glimpse of other people's lives through SNS, etc., and people tend to make short-sighted judgments about happiness by applying other people's standards. However, it is not uncommon to find out after the fact that someone who looks happy is actually having a lot of problems.
We may be judging others based only on superficial information and are unable to face the true nature of the person. However, no matter what a person looks like on the surface, he or she is a human being living in the waves of life.

The beauty of this artwork is due to the beauty of the random wave-shaped forms, and I believe that life is full of ups and downs, which is why we are deeply moved when we look back on it at the end.
By visualizing each person's life as a colorful artwork, this artwork expresses that all life is beautiful, no matter what kind of life it is.

シムラ　ヒデミ　(現代美術作家)

糸を使って丹念に制作された彼女の作品は、人と人のつながり、人と世界のつながりなど、私たちを取り巻く世界をありのままに反映することを意図している。
静岡県出身。武蔵野美術大学空間演出デザイン学科にてファッションデザインを専攻後、3DCG制作者として働いたのちに現代美術作家へ。デビュー直後にパリでの初個展を開催、その後継続的に海外でも積極的に活動している。2006年から2013年まで上海に定住しアーティスト活動を行う。
近年は実験的な作品制作にもチャレンジし、新シリーズを次々と誕生させている。
東京・上海を始め、日本、中国、台湾、欧米各地で数多くの出展歴がある。現在埼玉県在住。

Profile

HIDEMI SHIMURA (contemporary artist)

Her artwork, carefully created with thread, is intended to reflect the world around us as it is, such as the connection between people and the connection between people and the world.
Born in Shizuoka, Japan. After majoring in fashion design at Musashino Art university, after working as a 3DCG creator, she became a contemporary artist. Immediately after her debut, she held her first solo exhibition in Paris, and has been actively working overseas since then. Settled in Shanghai from 2006 to 2013 and worked as an artist.
In recent years, she has also taken on the challenge of experimental work production, and is creating new series one after another.

1974 Born in Japan
1997 Graduated from Musashino Art Univ. Tokyo (Majored in scenic display and fashion design)
1998-2005 Worked for some company as a 3DCG animation creator, then became a contemporary artist.
2006-2013 Lived in Shanghai, China, did activity as a contemporary artist there.
2013.12 Moved back to Japan, now lives in Tokoroza`wa-city, Saitama.
