松江泰治によるタイプCプリント作品を、アクリルマウントで仕立てた3点セット。

松江泰治は、空撮や高所からの視点を用い、都市や自然、そこに生きる人間の営みを等価に捉える写真作品で知られる作家である。個人の感情や物語性を排したフラットな視点によって、風景は特定の場所性を超え、ひとつの「構造」として立ち現れる。

俯瞰された画面に写る人々は匿名化され、都市の屋根、地表、庭、河川といった要素と同列に配置されることで、人間もまた環境を構成する一要素として示される。そこには支配やドラマはなく、ただ静かに秩序と偶然が共存する世界が広がっている。

松江の写真は、記録と抽象のあいだを行き来しながら、私たちが普段見落としている世界の成り立ちやスケール感を可視化する。冷静でありながら詩的なその視線は、風景を「見る」行為そのものを問い直す。

This three-piece set features Type C prints by Taiji Matsue, each finished with a refined acrylic mount.

Taiji Matsue is known for his photographic works that adopt aerial and elevated viewpoints, capturing cities, landscapes, and human activity with equal distance and clarity. By eliminating personal emotion and narrative, his images transcend specific locations and emerge instead as visual structures.

Figures seen from above are rendered anonymous and placed on the same plane as rooftops, ground surfaces, gardens, and rivers, presenting humanity as one element within a broader environment. There is no sense of dominance or drama—only a quiet coexistence of order and chance.

Moving between documentation and abstraction, Matsue’s photographs reveal underlying systems and scales of the world that often go unnoticed. His calm yet poetic gaze invites viewers to reconsider the very act of seeing a landscape.

Profile

松江泰治(まつえたいじ、1963年東京都生まれ)は、写真を通して風景や都市、構造物を客観的かつ精緻に捉える写真家・現代美術作家。東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科を修了後、国内外で発表を重ねている。

人工と自然、秩序と偶然が交差する地点を主題とし、俯瞰的な視点や均質化された構図によって、個別の物語性を排しながらも、風景に内在する構造や時間性を浮かび上がらせる。空撮や高所からの撮影、幾何学的な画面構成により、都市や建築、自然環境を「現象」として提示し、写真がもつ記録性と抽象性のあいだを往還する表現を確立している。

Profile

Taiji Matsue (born 1963, Tokyo) is a photographer and contemporary artist whose work explores landscapes, cities, and structures through an objective and highly controlled photographic approach. He completed his graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts and has exhibited internationally.

Matsue focuses on the intersection of nature and artificial systems, eliminating narrative to reveal underlying structures and temporal layers within landscapes. Through aerial perspectives, elevated viewpoints, and rigorous compositions, he presents urban and natural environments as phenomena rather than scenes. His practice navigates between documentation and abstraction, redefining photography as a tool for observing the invisible order embedded in the world.
